Most parcels have some kind of view of the mountains.  This one has views of the Spanish Peaks to the North.  But, views are rarely the only interesting feature on 35 acres of mountain land.  The one hundred to one fifty foot canyon, gaping and contained for about a quarter mile stretch of this property, is the most alluring feature. 

The canyon walls are crawling with large firs and ponderosa.  Rocky tops drain their boulder additions along the slopes as well.  The bottom of the canyon is spotted with aspen amoung the firs and pines.  The seasonal creek bottom has a few places where underground seepage escapes.  Buidling something on the best build site for views of the Spanish Peaks, you will also look over this canyon. 

This property is isloated but has good year round access.  The price reflects this. This is the mountains of Southern Colorado. 

Power runs through the middle of the property and phone is by cell.  Year round access. 

For you winter and summer acitivities, Cuchara Mountain Resort is available with 28 ski trails, mountian biking, hiking, horse back, local events, and summer dude ranch. 

Las Animas County contains the San Isabel National forest and Several Wildlife Areas, Wilderness Area, and 7 lakes all within an hour and a half drive.  Most of the parks and lakes are between 5 and 45 minutes of Trinidad or any parcel of land.  

From Trinidad you can hit Santa Fe, Toas, Angle Fire, Red River, and Monarch all in 3 hours time.  Wolf Creek and any of the other major front range ski areas are within 4 hours.  Two hours away is the Rio Grande National forest and San Juan Wilderness, some of the wildest country left in the lower 48.  The last known Grizzly in Colorado was found in the San Juan Wilderness.
