Numerous elk and deer sign throughout the property. The back meadow is
frequented for feed, water, and bedding, as is the lower meadow. Lower meadow is a great place for a well. Power
cuts through the lower meadow along the road. Year round access and
short distance to pavement and town.
Las Animas County has the San Isabel National forest and Several
Wildlife Areas, Wilderness Area, and 7 lakes all within an hour and a
half drive. Most of the parks and lakes are between 5 and 45 minutes of
Trinidad or any parcel of land.
From Trinidad you can hit Santa Fe, Taos, Angle Fire, Red River, and
Monarch all in 3 hours time. Wolf Creek is an hour more. Two hours away
is the Rio Grande National forest and San Juan Wilderness, some of the
wildest country left in the lower 48. The last known Grizzly in
Colorado was found in the San Juan Wilderness.
