As the snow starts to fly on a chilly winters day, you'll be wrapped in the warmth of hand hewn logs, overlooking a dark ribbon slicing its way through the puffed snowy white meadow below your home.  The occasional passer by of deer and elk animate the surrounding woods.  Go ahead and kick your shoes off and stay awhile.

The home consists of twenty five hundred square feet of full peeled logs, with rock from the river skirting the home, oversized garage, and woodstove.  There are three bedrooms and three baths.  Two baths have jet tubs.  The master and one of the other bedrooms face the river with attached decks.  You can listen to the river as you fall asleep.

The land consists of forty acres, just three miles off pavement on a year round county maintained road.  About a third of the land is contained in the river bottom, partially fenced, with the balance on the high mesa.  The river winding through the meadow attracts abundant wildlife, ranging from valley to mesa tops.  Only thrityfive minutes to town or ten minutes to the local mom and pop stores. 

Las Animas County has the San Isabel National forest and Several Wildlife Areas, Wilderness Area, and 7 lakes all within an hour and a half drive.  Most of the parks and lakes are between 5 and 45 minutes of Trinidad or any parcel of land.  

From Trinidad you can hit Santa Fe, Toas, Angle Fire, Red River, and Monarch all in 3 hours time.  Wolf Creek is an hour more. Two hours away is the Rio Grande National forest and San Juan Wilderness, some of the wildest country left in the lower 48.  The last known Grizzly in Colorado was found in the San Juan Wilderness.
