Think about bordering a 14k acre ranch that has been conserved for elk.  Your view to the West and Southwest overlooks this ranch to the Sangre De Cristo Range.  The ranch will never be subdivided.  Your gaurateed flawless views for a lifetime.  To the North, the Spanish Peaks tower over the build site as well.  The views are spectacular, overlooking the preserve and miles of mountains into New Mexico. The trees consist of aspens, blue spruce, douglas fir and ponderosa pine trees with some meadow too.

The build site has a rough cut road to it, underground power, and septic already installed.  The owner had it set up to build and used it for his RV in the mean time.  You can pick up a nice RV for camping or building for around 10k. 

The HOA takes care of the roads for year round access. This parcel is the second to the last in the subdivsion too.  Very private.  Your an hour from town too.    

About eight miles away you will find the Wilderness Area to explore and hike the West Spanish Peak.  With a good eye, you will see your roof top or camp site from the top of the peak.  There are 7 Area Lakes to enjoy, 30k acre State Wildlife Area, 2500 acre wildlife area, and National Forest too.

For you winter and summer acitivities, Cuchara Mountain Resort is available with 28 ski trails, mountian biking, hiking, horse back, local events, and summer dude ranch. 

Las Animas County contains the San Isabel National forest and Several Wildlife Areas, Wilderness Area, and 7 lakes all within an hour and a half drive.  Most of the parks and lakes are between 5 and 45 minutes of Trinidad or any parcel of land.  

From Trinidad you can hit Santa Fe, Toas, Angle Fire, Red River, and Monarch all in 3 hours time.  Wolf Creek and any of the other major front range ski areas are within 4 hours.  Two hours away is the Rio Grande National forest and San Juan Wilderness, some of the wildest country left in the lower 48.  The last known Grizzly in Colorado was found in the San Juan Wilderness.
