Arrowhead Ranchettes

Arrowhead Ranchettes is a nice, small, covenant free mountain ranch subdivision. It is located near the Spanish Peaks State Wildlife Area, about 35 minutes to Trinidad. Views are fantastic. Mobile homes and manufactured housing are allowed. Most parcels have power and phone lines available. This is fairly gentle terrain forested with pine, fir and occasional aspen. Year round access on county-maintained roads. Elevations range from 7200-7800 feet.

Location: Approximately 25 miles West of Trinidad, Colorado & 8 miles North of Segundo, Colorado off CR 30.1.

Eagles Landing

Eagles Landing is a gated mountain community. It is located just five minutes from Stonewall and features well-maintained roads with easy access. There is lots of room to roam, abundant deer and elk, and breathtaking views, including views of the famous "Stone Wall". Elevation is 7800-8900 feet.

Most of the mountain properties within this ranch are fairly steep and the first mile of road into the ranch may be difficult for large vehicles. Due to the varied mountain terrain and steepness, many of the properties have building sites close to the road, Most (but not all) properties have electrical service. Eagles Landing is forested with ponderosa pine and douglas fir. There is also lots of oak brush, some meadows, some rock outcroppings, and abundant wildlife.

Location: About 27 miles from Trinidad, Colorado and 2.8 miles east of Stonewall off Highway 12.

La Mariposa Ranch

La Mariposa Ranch is located in the Apishapa River Valley near the towering Spanish Peaks. This ranch has lots of gentle terrain, some seasonal catch ponds and large open meadows with wildflowers surrounded by tall trees. Parcels have more useable land than in most mountain ranch subdivisions

Located just minutes from the San Isabel National Forest and Cordova Pass, you'll often see huge herds of elk grazing.

Location: 18 miles north of Trinidad on Interstate 25 to Aguilar, then 8.2 miles west on County Road 43.6 to Gulnare.

New Cimarron Ranch

This ranch is a few miles from San Isabel National Forest. Neighbors...who needs them, but the ones you have here are like minded outdoors people. Views from the mesa are the only ones you can see almost 360 degrees, looking to the Sangres, Spanish Peaks, Fishers Peak, and for miles into New Mexico.

Seculed is the word. Few of the lots have been built on. The ones that have are upper end log homes. This is truly a get out of the way getaway location.

New construction on the mesa is occuring on 5 lots with the tremendous views. The owner is installing a water system to these lots only and a 1600 sqft log home with a full walk-out basement is going up as well. Look for these exciting parcels under the land and mountain home listings.

It's a 45 minute trip to town from here but the Home Owners Assocation provides year round access.

Location: Approximately 20 miles West of Trinidad to Weston, then 16 miles North of Weston on CR 31.9 or you can go to Aguilar and then 21 miles West on County Road 42.

North Fork Ranch

What an awesome ranch. If your looking for property close to other mountain communities, National Forest, a 20,000 acre Elk preserve, and 4 mountain lakes, then this is the right ranch for you.

With 35 acre tracts of land full of Pines, Aspens, Blue Spruce, Sandstone Boulders, and Mountain Peaks so close you can feel the cool air off of the snow, this ranch has it all.

Year round access is provided by the Home Owners Assocation.

Lots start in the 50's and go as high as 90k, depending on individual lot features.

Located 3.5 miles off of The Scenic Highway of Legends or Hwy 12, your only 5 miles to Stonewall for a good mountain breakfast. If dinner is your tangle, then head North out of the ranch entrance to the Timbers for a 4 Star meal. Don't forget to leave a little early to take in the lakes and alpine forests on your way. A camera is handy to have to get a shot of an elk, deer, bobcat, cougar, turkey, bear, raccoon, geese, I think you get the idea.

You won't be disappointed.

Location: Approximately 25 miles west of Trinidad and 3 = miles north of Highway 12 on County Road 21.6.

Picketwire Ranch

The Picketwire Ranch is located next to Cokedale, approximately 20 minutes from Trinidad. Opportunities for historic exploration abound.

Picketwire ranch appeals to those who want rural, off-grid, but need to be close to urban amenities. Roads within the ranch are privately maintained and there is lots of Bureau of Land Management land interspersed throughout that may never be subdivided. You'll find land of varied terrain including gentle pastures and rugged foothills. The elevation is 6500-7400 feet.

Location: 10 miles West of Trinidad, Colorado on Highway 12 - 5 miles North East of Cokedale off Riley Canyon Road (CR 57.7).

Ponderosa Hills Ranch

Ponderosa Hills Ranch is a very large mountain ranch subdivision with four phases of development recorded in Las Animas County records.  Some are irregular shaped 35-acre tracts while the majority of them are the typical ¼ mile square, 40-acre tracts. Some tracts have power and phone, but many are appropriate for off-grid living. Elevations are 6400-7400 feet with terrain varying from very gentle to extremely steep.

There's a nice blend of pinion, cedar, ponderosa, and Douglas fir plus some great rock out-croppings. Some parcels have excellent views of the surrounding mountains.

Location: The Ranch is located between Exits 23 and 27 of Interstate 25 approximately 9-13 miles North of Trinidad and approximately 3-4 miles West of the interstate.

Rancho Escondido

Spectacular ranch with well groomed roads, road signs, and even a map of the ranch roads a the entrance to the subdivision. Covered in Pines and Spruce with views of the peaks, the properties in this ranch go for 70k to 90k for vacant 35 acre parcels and 250k up to 750k for homes. 7500 feet to 7900 feet in elevation.

Trees and views are the highlights with a smattering of sandstone boulders. This ranch is one of the premeir ranches in the area. Its proximity to the Highway of Legends or HWY 12 and the mountain towns and lakes makes the ranch very desirable.

Approximatly 20 miles West of Trinidad, Colorado and 4 miles off of HWY 12.

All tracts are 35 acres.

Location: Go West on HWY 12 20 miles and look on your right for the Rancho Escondido sign. Take a right and follow signs.

River Ranch Long's Canyon

River Ranch has good year round access on county maintained roads. Close to Trinidad, Colorado. The elevation is 6,200-6,600 feet.

River Ranch is forested with a blend of cedar and pinion trees with some ponderosas and is adjacent to Long's Canyon Wildlife Refuge. Ride your horse to the south side of Trinidad Lake State Park.

Location: 9 miles west of Trinidad on Highway 12. At the Madrid Bridge go left to CR 18.3.

San Pablo Canyon Ranch

At an elevation of 7500-8400 feet, San Pablo Canyon Ranch in the centrally located Wet Canyon area. It is only 30-40 minutes from Trinidad.

This mountain ranch has it all. It is close, yet remote, with canyons, seasonal creeks, rolling meadows, hilltop vistas, rock outcroppings, cedars, pinions, Douglas firs, ponderosas, and aspens.

Most parcels have electricity, but about 25% of the ranch is off grid. Many parcels offer easy year round access. Others are in very remote, four wheel drive areas.

Location: Approximately 20 miles West of Trinidad on Highway 12 and 7 Miles North of Weston on CR 31.9

Santa Fe Trail Ranch

Santa Fe Trail Ranch has approximately 16,800 acres in size. It includes a Greenbelt Conservatory Belt along Gallinas Canyon. It is just a few miles from the city of Trinidad and provides mountain living combined with city amenities. All parcels have power, phone, and CITY WATER. They have their own fire protection too!!

Homes start at 250k up to one million plus.

Location: 6-8 miles South of Trinidad, Colorado, just West of Interstate 25 at Exit 6.

Silver Spurs Ranch

Silver Spurs Ranch offers gentle terrain and views of the Sangre de Cristos, the Spanish Peaks Mountains, Greenhorn Mountain and is only minutes from town. It consists of approximately 6,000-7,000 total acres. The elevation of 6300-6800 feet. Vegetation is mostly cedar and pinion. It is home to deer, antelope, and an occasional black bear.

Once a large working cattle ranch, Silver Spurs Ranch has parcels are ideal for horses.

Location: 4.5 miles South of Walsenburg off CR 330 in Huerfano County

Spanish Highlands Ranch

Spanish Highlands Ranch was established in the early 1970's and is one of the oldest mountain subdivisions in the area. There are protective covenants but currently no active POA to enforce them.

There is both large and small mountain acreage. Some roads require 4-wheel drive access but most do not. Most parcels have ponderosas with cedar and pinion tree coverage, along with some nice mountain meadows and rock outcroppings. Elevation of 6800-7700. Spanish Highlands Ranch is close to the State Wildlife and BLM land areas. Pricces are very reasonable. Trinidad is less than 1 hour away.

Location: 10 miles west of Trinidad, Colorado & 7-8 miles north of Cokedale, Colorado on Reilly Canyon Road, (CR 57.7 and CR 51.0).

Spanish Peaks Ranch Estates

At an elevation of 8800-10,200 feet, Spanish Peaks Ranch Estates (not to be cunfused with Spanish Peaks Ranch, a completely separate development) offers alpine mountain living at it's best.

Spanish Peaks Ranch Estates is located at the base of the Spanish Peaks adjacent to the San Isabel National Forest. The headwaters of the Apishipa River start in this area and run through some of the properties. Throughout the Estates you'll find a tree cover of predominately aspens, spruce and Douglas firs. Some of the mountain properties are very steep and do not offer year round access without a snowmobile. There are also beautiful open meadows.

Location: Approximately 30-35 miles west of Interstate 25 and Aguilar on Cordova Pass Road (CR 46.0)

Spirit Mountain Ranch

Spirit Mountain Ranch is located in the Apisipha River Valley at an elevation of 7,000-7,550 feet, only 15-20 minutes from the San Isabel National forest via Cordova Pass Road.

Spirit Mountain Ranch offers gentle terrain that includes mountain ridge-tops, meadows, canyons with seasonal creeks, and views of the Spanish Peaks. Deer, elk, bear, and other wildlife abound. Many parcels are ideal for horses.

Location: Located in Gulnare, Colorado. Go approximately 16 miles north from Trinidad on I-25 to Aguilar, Colorado, then 8.5 miles west on CR 43.7 to Gulnare.

Whispering Pines Ranch

Whispering Pines Ranch is remote and private. The elevation is  7,200-7,700 feet. The northern boundary of this mountain property abuts the Spanish Peaks State wildlife area, and has a private access for foot and horseback travel into the area. Views are magnificent. Throughout the ranch land you'll find varied terrain with some great rock outcroppings, gorgeous meadows, and abundant wildlife.

This is a gated mountain community that promises privacy and seculsion. Most parcels have power and phone nearby, and good year round access roads.

Location: 12 miles north and west of Bon Carbo, Colorado
